Vinyl Man Slaughter

So we only had three entries...

Not because the idea wasn't badass enough or because we are unpopular (however our followers list may be deceiving). No, we had 3 entries because there are at least three awesome people in the world. One of whom is running very late in taking pictures of her Vinyl Massacre but we can forgive that because she's adjusting to higher education. And it was her 22nd birthday on Sunday, which I'm sure takes time to recover from.

The winner hands down is Ms. Gina Moscarella.
She hacked up the soundtrack of Camelot into something she likes to call, "a work of fart." We hope to see more of her glittery, pigementy craft farts in the future. Congrats Gina!
Camelot Before Gina
Camelot After Gina
Camelot + Gina = Awegasmic

And we have at least one functional use of a shitty record by the band that McCartney thought would be a great idea, Wings - Venus and Mars. Please excuse me if my statements about such a piece of worthless crap vinyl offend you.

I made the Venus and Mars vinyl record into not only a bowl, which as been done so many times before but also a whole movie night/coffee table set. Complete with popcorn bowl, coasters for that cold beer and a case for the coasters.

Welcome to the birth of something FUN!

A long long time ago two crafty girls decided that something like a Craft Corner Death Match would be the funnest thing they could ever imagine.  Pick a subject, make a craft, just like Iron Chef-and not the dorky American version but with the real blood and sweat of the original.
Then life took them by the feet and now they live not in the same tiny town but on opposite coasts of the USA.

This is how Craft Corner Challenge was born.

We are inviting all of you webfolks, friends and strangers to submit your craft projects to our page so that we can share and pick winners.  Prizes are up in the air as of now, but as the blog gets bigger and better you may start to win some really cool stuff!

So sharpen your scissors, get those ribbon scraps and pipe cleaners ready, its time for Craft Core Challenge! (game show music plays...)

CHALLENGE ONE:  VINYL RECORD FRANKENSTEIN

Give it up, we all have at least one record that is too scratched to pay, or maybe in perfectly good shape that you never want to listen to again.  Time to get brutal on its ass.
The best creation involving any parts, vinyl or paperboard of a record and its reconstitution into something awesome will win this week.

Submit photos and a couple words by 4/7/09  at craftcorechallenge@gmail.com

This is the only rule:
You can borrow ideas from other crafters, but if you do, give credit where credit is due, ok? ok.
